Lenders often hear that changing a live data pipeline means a project. In practice, the data needed for automated collections is much smaller than a full core banking integration, so deployment need not take quarters.
That expectation misses the narrow data scope needed to run effective automated collections.
What Collections Software Needs From Core Banking
The platform needs account data showing which borrowers are overdue, by how much, and for how long. It computes channel preferences, message variants, and timing itself.
Typical fields are borrower ID, phone and email, outstanding balance, days past due, product type, and a payment confirmation callback. No deep access to transaction processing, ledger reconciliation, or credit decisioning is needed. These are account status fields that modern loan systems can expose.
The work is often mistaken for a data warehouse project. It is narrower: an operational read and status write. Your core system does not need new data structures or exposed transaction logs.
CSV: Fastest Route to Deployment
Lenders not ready for an API can use a structured CSV import. The collections team, or an automated core export, creates a daily or weekly file with the required fields. The platform imports accounts, starts campaigns, and records confirmed payments back in your records.
This is a valid operating model, not an inferior stopgap. For lenders handling a few thousand overdue accounts, daily CSV is sufficient and simple to set up. The core team builds nothing, while collections runs the export.
CSV has latency and manual dependency. A direct payment can leave an account receiving messages until the next import suppresses it. High direct-payment volumes can hurt the borrower experience. An API avoids this.
API: Real-Time Synchronization
An API connection has two flows: account data enters the collections platform from core banking, while payment confirmations and borrower responses return to core banking.
The inbound flow can use a REST endpoint the platform polls, or a core banking webhook that creates or updates account records. Modern Brazilian loan systems, including Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Matera, and custom Rails or Django systems, can usually expose account status through an authenticated, read-only endpoint with a few days of development.
The outbound flow makes the connection bidirectional. When a borrower pays through a PIX link in WhatsApp, the platform sends payment details to a core banking write endpoint, usually by webhook. The core system then reduces the balance. This takes more work than the read endpoint, but remains contained.
A well-scoped API connection between a mid-size lender's loan system and BLU365 takes 2 to 4 weeks of development. Most work is building and testing the two endpoints on the core side. BLU365 requires configuration, not code.
PIX Payments and Confirmation
PIX is Brazil's main payment rail and a standard route for collections through WhatsApp and SMS. The borrower pays a PIX key or QR code in a banking app. Confirmation reaches the lender's receiving account, then the collections platform through the callback.
Lenders with PIX receiving already configured can let the platform create payment requests with their existing credentials. No new PIX registration is needed. The request, amount, and account reference go into the outreach message. BLU365's platform integration layer converts account parameters for the right channel.
Avoid Over-Scoping the Integration
We repeatedly see scope expand from exporting overdue accounts and importing payment confirmations to connecting CRM, document management, and reporting systems, or rebuilding a delinquency dashboard. That can become a six-month project and delay collections deployment.
This does not need to be a systems architecture project. Answer two questions: how does overdue data reach the platform, and how does payment confirmation return? Other work can come later and should not block launch.
Deeper integration can improve personalization through CRM data, repayment history, and behavioral scoring. Add those connections incrementally after the core loop runs. A minimum integration in production is better than waiting for a perfect comprehensive one.
